Corgi-L Home Page - Corgi-L Photo Gallery
Before posting, you'll want to read our current Album & Photo Gallery Rules, Terms and Conditions. In the upper right of every gallery page, you should see a link labeled Register:
Click on that and it should take you to a screen with some legalese you need to agree to:
Once you press the I agree button, you should see a screen asking you to "Input Registration Information":
Choose a Username, a Password, and Re-Enter password to make sure it's correct, and enter your Email address. (Your Location, and the names or number of Corgwn is optional, and up to you.) After that you press Submit Registration, an email will get sent to the email address you specified, to confirm and complete your registration.
"Cookies" are bits of information that websites ask your computer's web browser to remember for them. Without getting into a lot of computerese, they're required so that you don't have to login over and over again for each new page you visit in the photo gallery. Cookies can also be misused, (though not nearly as badly as some would have you believe). The result is that browsers have the ability to not support cookies, if so instructed - or sometimes by default. In Internet Explorer, in Tools -> Internet Options on the "Privacy" tab, using the "Sites..." button, you can add corgi-l.org to your always allow list. That should clear it up. (I recently heard rumbling that IE7 tightened the default settings, so if this started happening after you upgraded to IE7, you may need to do the same.) Similarly, in Firefox, you can control cookie handling in Tools, Options, Privacy - in the "Cookies" section. Unfortunately, I don't know how this is handled in the AOL browser. If you want to learn a little more about cookies in general, this article might be a good overview: How do I delete cookies? And just what are cookies, anyway?.
This most commonly happens for one of two reasons, both spam-related:
For either, the right thing to do is, before you register, add these email addresses to your spam filter's "whitelist":
(Remember to replace "<at>" with "@".) First you must register. When you're in the photo gallery, click the "Register" link at the top of the page. You'll need to provide a little information, including your email address. A message will be sent to that email address, and once you follow its instructions, you'll be registered. Once you've registered and logged in, you'll see a new link available to you in the upper right:
Click on that, and you'll be taken to an upload page, where you can locate the photos on your hard disk to be uploaded:
Once you press Continue the image(s) will be uploaded. This can take some time depending on your internet connection speed, and the number and size of your photos. If the uploads are successful you'll be told so, and to once again "Please click 'Continue' to add the files to albums."
Here you can select which photo album you would like your image to be placed in - one of the public shared albums, or a user album with your own collection of photos. You can also add information about the photo as well as its caption. Press Continue and you photo will be added to the gallery. You'll then need to repeat this for each photo you have uploaded.
First you must register. Click the "Register" link at the top of the page. You'll need to provide a little information, including your email address. A message will be sent to that email address, and once you follow its instructions, you'll be registered. Once you login after registering, there'll be a "Create/order my albums" button near the top of the screen. Most commonly this can happen if your browser does not allow cookies. The photo gallery software we're using does require cookies (and, quite possibly, Javascript) be enabled. You may also need to add corgi-l.org to a list of trusted sites in your browser and/or any firewall software.
Just email the Corgi-L admin team: corgi-ad<at>listserv.tamu.edu - we'll do our best to help. |
